She is inspired by the fantastical, otherworldly, and haunting, using intricate details to make imaginary scenes feel like tangible places. Victoria Hall has worked as a professional paper marbler since 1989. Based near Fakenham in Norfolk, England, she produces fine hand decorated papers using a range of traditional techniques including marbling, paste and suminagashi for use in bookbinding, book arts, and the conservation and restoration of antiquarian books.

Gerald Ward is a bookbinder, librarian, and maker with over two decades of experience in preservation, design, and historical media. He is the founder of Bibliopathologist, where he specializes in custom bindings, archival enclosures, and the restoration of rare and collectible books. Gerald was the lead bookbinder for the rebind of Gothic by Philip Fracassi.

Philip Fracassi

Philip Fracassi is the USA Today bestselling, Stoker and British Fantasy-nominated author of the novels Don’t Let Them Get You Down, A Child Alone with Strangers, Gothic, Boys in the Valley, The Third Rule of Time Travel, and The Autumn Springs Retirement Home Massacre. Philip’s numerous other award-winning works include screenplays, novellas, and short story collections.
His short story, “Altar”, has been adapted by film studio A24 for a feature film, and his story, “Fail Safe” is being adapted for a feature film by Bad Robot, with Oscar winner Brie Larson set to star.

He has worked full-time from his home studio since 2002 where he produces a wide range of traditional and contemporary papers for use in bookbinding, book arts, and cartoonage. Renato designed and crafted the marbled papers for the rebind of Gothic by Philip Fracassi.

Alexandros Pyromallis is an artist specilizing in complex horror illustration. Alexandros works from his home studio in Athens, Greece where he creates shocking analogue illustrations using hands, ink, microns, brushes, and paper, while avoiding the shortcuts and shortcomings of modern circuitry. After first devouring the novel, Alexandros painstakingly illustrated the rebind of Gothic by Philip Fracassi.
